A mix of botany, insect, and mechanical parts, Hogan's painted shapes hover and ascend through vibrant skies or deep blue seas. They yearn, strive, and falter. Patterns emerge between the shapes and interfere in the ability to get attention or gain acceptance. The atmospheric shifts of color in the background of Hogan's paintings introduce a new spectrum to the visible world and describe what it might look like to see through this world.
