Our Mission

"Art is both love and understanding, the desire to give. It is not charity, which is the giving of the self. It is both the taking and giving of beauty, the turning out to the light the inner folds of the awareness of the spirit. It is the recreation of another plane of the realities of the world, the tragic and wonderful realities of earth and man and all the interrelations of these."   Written by Ansel Adams in a letter to his best friend, Cedric Wright in 1937

NASA's Michelle Thaller says as an astrophysicist she finds meaning in things that are beyond the control of humans. "You know, we're all on this little rotating rock together and we're tiny," she says. "The only thing we have is each other. The only thing that's going to help the loneliness is each other."

Governor Tom Wolf ordered all non-life-sustaining businesses in Pennsylvania to close their physical locations as of 8 p.m. March 19, 2020 to slow the spread of COVID-19. At this time, BoxHeart's physical location is not open to the public. But, research has shown that viewing art can reduce stress and anxiety, increase motivation, and serve as a mood booster. There are many ways to get your BoxHeart fix from home via the internet!
