ellen_silberlicht

Ellen Silberlicht's journey as an artist is shaped by a blend of resilience and creative discovery. Originally working primarily in ceramics, her artistic process shifted when health challenges led her to expolre a new approach. Her signature "Raku Fiber Fusion" series combines the earthy, unpredictable qualities of Raku-fired clay with the softness of felted wool. Adding glass beads and metallic details, Silberlicht's artwork celebrates contrasts - rough and smooth, rigid and flexible - inviting us to experience art that is both tactile and emotional resonant.

Based in Honesdale Pennsylvania, Silberlicht views her studio process as a source of joy and discovery. Her artistry is rooted in over 40 years of experimentation and skill, shaped by the process of learning and adapting across multiple art mediums. Her artwork has been displayed in various exhibitions, and her innovative approach has garnered attention for its tactile qualities and her commitment to blending unexpected materials. Silberlicht's artwork inspires a sense of wonder and curiosity. She invites us to get lost in the interplay of textures, shapes, and materials.
