Annie Heisey: The Dream Afraid of Waking

Annie Heisey's paintings maintain an almost dreamlike quality, as if vivid color and expressive brushwork coalesced to deeply emotional, layered compositions. Her palette is often bold, and hues liquefy into blends and clashes: soft pastels, like mint and yellow, against the saturated reds and blues, give her figures a surreal, otherworldly atmosphere.
