Randie Snow

Randie Snow is a Pittsburgh-based assemblage artist and graphic designer drawn to the stories hidden within ordinary things: the beauty of an unexpected object, the history held in a worn surface, and the possibility that something overlooked might become something entirely new.
Working with found objects and repurposed materials, Snow creates assemblages that bring familiar fragments into unexpected relationships. Her process is intuitive and deeply visual, informed by more than two decades as a designer and art director, yet guided as much by discovery as intention. Objects carry their own histories and, in Snow’s hands, become part of a quiet alchemy.
For The Myth of Persephone, Snow turns toward the stillness at the heart of Persephone’s descent. Through the play between light and dark, flowers, and the art of Victorian hair weaving, her assemblages consider the passage from loss to transformation and ultimately toward autonomy. Persephone’s journey becomes not simply a descent but a becoming: a return to the world transformed, carrying the darkness of what came before while discovering the power and beauty of what lies ahead.
Across her work, Snow explores transformation and the liminal spaces between one state of being and another. Her first solo exhibition, Passages, explored the interplay of sin and virtue and the ways our choices accumulate to shape the journey of a life. Later collections, including Through the Looking Glass and Seeds of Wisdom, found magic in the meeting of the familiar and the fantastical, transforming antique objects and humble seed pods into vessels for stories and reflection.
Snow has received numerous honors, including Best of Show at the Pittsburgh Technology Council’s 15-Minutes Gallery juried exhibition and runner-up at the Hoyt Center for the Arts’ 2022 Regional Juried Exhibition. She was also invited to serve as featured artist for the Carnegie Museum’s Earth Day Ecolution Fashion Show. Her assemblages have been exhibited at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, Nutting Gallery at West Liberty University, SPACE Gallery, 709 Penn Avenue Gallery, Fe Arts Gallery, Pittsburgh International Airport, and the Pittsburgh Visionary Arts Festival.
