Jason Forck's glass sculpture explores the relationship society shares with the landscape surrounding it. Through traditional glassblowing techniques along with experimental approaches, Forck explores glass components alongside other media such as wood and metal. Raised on a small farm in Kansas, he learned the value of working with one’s hands early in life. He received his BFA in Glass and Painting from Emporia State University. In 2005, he moved to Pittsburgh to pursue an opportunity at Pittsburgh Glass Center where he continues making his sculptures and working as education and creative projects coordinator. Forck has exhibited nationally and shown in galleries in Pittsburgh, Chicago, Kansas City, and New York. He has been selected for artist in residencies at Pittsburgh Glass Center, Emporia State University, University of Wisconsin Stephens Point, Ohio State University, and Jacksonville University. Forck has assisted in teaching classes at Corning Museum of Glass and Pilchuck Glass School and most recently was a featured artist at the NYNOW Trade Show in New York City in partnership with Monmade.
